These past years I have dedicated myself to the development of my personal artistic voice. The creative process, which has given substance to my voice, is not only fed and stimulated visually but also through my additional senses of smell, hearing, taste and touch.
Having the benefit of a seaside location, I can witness first hand the coolness of an ocean breeze, the taste of the salt air, the fine spray upon my face, the crash of the tide upon the bank and the vision of the sun dancing off the surface water.
Most of my work is created on site, using real life models, props and nature. Some paintings will be brought back to my studio to finish using both my drawings and reference photos as guides. I work in watercolors, oils and acrylics, depending on what the subject calls for. At times, one medium will support the creation of the same subject in another medium, for example an on site watercolor sketch later used as reference for an oil painting.
